These boys can pick!
Since 1996, The Lone Pine Bluegrass Band has been keeping the bluegrass tradition alive in the Aspen Colorado area. With the recent passing of one of the original founding members, Peter Platek on banjo and guitar in 2008, a new configuration and the next generation of Bluegrass has emerged the way Peter would of done it. With Dave Notor on mandolin/dobro, the last remaining original member, Trevor Mountjoy on bass, Kory Krahl on fiddle/mandolin/guitar, Steve Johnson now on banjo/guitar and Randy Utterback on fiddle/mandolin/guitar/dobro, calling themselves Buffalo Joe, they have the same driving music and great harmonies it has had in the past. Their songs still reflect bluegrass music from the early 20th century of Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers, Flatt and Scruggs, to the contemporary bluegrass from the 21st century. Keep an eye out for these guys in the future!
